Creating a Vibrant Network of Enneagram Communities in the Northeast

The Enneagram and Purpose

Many of us who are drawn to learning about the Enneagram of Personality are accustomed to asking the question “Who am I?” If the goal of our exploration is to be more mindfully self aware, release ego based fears, and access the wisdom of all nine points, what more tangible outcomes are we anticipating, if any?  This year as we turn our attention to the theme, “Enneagram and Purpose” we are raising the question “Why am I?”

To psychologists, Purpose is an “abiding intention to achieve a long-term goal that is both personally meaningful and makes a positive mark on the world”. Whether we are intent on blazing a trail in a chosen career or immersed in internal work, a sense of purpose can motivate us to endure and even embrace the discomfort that deepening self awareness gives rise to. As we learn to be with the parts of ourselves to which we have habitually turned a blind eye, what paths may open up to us that make our lives more meaningful?

With these thoughts in mind as well as our own declared intent to create a vibrant network of Enneagram communities in the Northeast USA we are busy recruiting and scheduling new speakers, launching coaching circles to support mental health practitioners and guides and brainstorming ideas for other discussion based groups.  For example:

• Does the Enneagram influence the kind of work we feel called to do?

• What do our heart centers tell us about the values we want to embody?

• How does the Enneagram relate to manifestation?

With anticipated new books and teachings about the Enneagram and Creativity on the way and a transformative atmosphere in world events, the time seems ripe for a recommitment to our strengths and nurturing our challenging areas in the service of the greater good. We look forward to connecting with and learning from you, our community!
